Girl, where did you get that?

Know what I love to hear, "Girl, where did you get that?"

Confession: It's been a WHILE since I've purchased clothing at regular price. Yep, I love to thrift around for some goodies to wear. I mean- why not when there are incredible stores that help ladies like me take their wardrobe to the next level for a great price. And we all said, “Preach!”

The thing I love the most about stores like Goodwill and consignments shops like Labels and Nearly New in Greenville, SC is the creative freedom personalizing an outfit. Colors, textures, classic pieces and timeless prints- all can make an outfit truly your own. And, the thing I love most about these stores that bring me joy in my wallet but also brings me joy in my heart when they do a great deal to serve our communities. Both of these stores are connected to incredible organizations that give back to others all through the purchase of those cute J. Crew shoes you found on the rack! How awesome is it to know that your dollar will make someone you don’t know in your community receive support and resources all because of you.

Want to know a trick about shopping thrifty? Here are three ways:

1.     Find pieces that you can match with others easily! Maximize your outfit and make them fun and trendy. See that outfit I have on in my photo? Everything came from a  consignment store and Goodwill. Totaling a whopping $28.52. That could sometimes be ONE piece of clothing #mamagotdaycaretopayfor.

2.     Shop around! Give yourself some time to look through the awesome items. Sometimes  you score and other time you don’t but that’s what makes it fun!

3.     I dare you to find something you wanted to try a season or two ago and just put it on and buy it. YOLO couldn’t be more appropriate.

Insert my happy dance.

There’s nothing better than supporting local businesses and organizations that have a giving footprint in your community. And, just remember that the next time you put together something with incredible detail and time and someone asks you, “Girl, where did you get that?” proudly share this secret.
